On December 6th, 2024, the "Education Strengthens the Nation, Management Thrives the Country - 2024 Central Radio and Television Network (CRTN) MBA Education Annual Gala," hosted by CRTN, was grandly held in Beijing. Professor Yan Haifeng from the School of Business, East China University of Science and Technology was invited to deliver a keynote speech on the theme "Management Education Needs 'Presence'." Former Director of the Department of Students Affairs of the Ministry of Education and renowned education expert Wang Chichang, Professor Yi Jingtao, Dean of the Business School at Renmin University of China, Professor Ye Qiang, Executive Dean of the School of Technology and Business at University of Science and Technology of China and member of the National MBA Education Steering Committee, Professor Bai Changhong, Dean of the Business School at Nankai University and member of the State Council's Degree Committee for Business Administration, Professor Feng Gengzhong, Dean of the School of Management at Xi'an Jiaotong University and member of the National MBA Education Steering Committee, Professor Ma Tao, member of the University Affairs Committee and Dean of the Business School at Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor Wu Changqi, Dean of the School of Management at Shandong University, and other distinguished guests attended the gala. Over 200 leaders, guests, and experts from more than 100 business schools across the country gathered to discuss strategies for strengthening education and the development path for management talents.

Prof. Yan Haifeng pointed out that, like medicine and engineering, business administration is a typical applied discipline that cannot be separated from the "field" of practice. Looking back at the history of management science, all classic theories that have had a significant impact are the results of focusing on practice and addressing real-world challenges. He emphasized that today, Chinese enterprises are facing new problems and challenges that require the management academia to truly "enter the field" to answer, contributing not only Chinese management knowledge but also truly "practical knowledge." To this end, he believes that Chinese management education should, like Mr. Feng Youlan once talked about Chinese philosophy, more consciously transition from "speaking by the book" to "continuing the discourse." He further pointed out that one of the important paths for "continuing the discourse" is "two combinations": that is, management education should be more closely integrated with the management practices of Chinese enterprises and more closely combined with the excellent traditional Chinese culture.

The gala grandly revealed the 2024 MBA Education Tribute List. Among them, the MBA program of East China University of Science and Technology was honored as the "2024 Business Education Industry-Education Integration Benchmark School," the MEM program was awarded the "2024 Outstanding Influence MEM Program," and the MPAcc program received the "2024 Outstanding Influence MPAcc Program."
