On June 22nd, 2024, the Periodic Qualification Assessment Meeting for ECUST Master of Finance Degree Authorization Point is successfully held at Room 405, Business School Building. This meeting aims to carry out a comprehensive assessment of the authorization points for the professional master of finance and further improve the level of discipline construction and teaching quality.

    The assessment expert group is composed of six experts,including Prof. YANG Jie, Director of the Shanghai Municipal Degree Office and Director of the Higher Education Department of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission; Prof. LIU Liya, a member of the National Financial Master's Degree Education Steering Committee, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Financial Master's Degree Education Steering Committee, and Vice President of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics; Prof. FENG Yun, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Financial Master's Degree Education Steering Committee, Deputy Dean of the Bank of China Technology Finance College at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Director of the Department of Finance at the Antai College of Economics and Management; Prof. Zhang Zongxin, a member and Secretary-General of the Shanghai Financial Master's Degree Education Steering Committee, and Professor at the School of Economics, Fudan University; Prof. ZHANG Tiezhu, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of the School of Finance, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics; and Mr. ZHANG Laizhi, Secretary of the Party General Branch of the Research Institute of Haitong Securities Co., Ltd. Prof. DU Wenli, Dean of the ECUST Graduate School, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

    Prof. DU Wenli warmly welcomed the arrival of the assessment expert group and expressed gratitude for the experts' presence and guidance. She introduced that ECUST is the first higher education institution with chemical engineering as its characteristic since the founding of the People's Republic of China. While maintaining its characteristics in science and engineering, the university also places great emphasis on the development of humanities and social sciences, supports the further growth and development of the financial discipline. She briefly introduced the background of the degree point assessment and hoped that the expert group would provide valuable suggestions for the future development of the university's financial master's degree authorization point, to better promote the continuous construction and sustainable development of the university’s financial master's program.

    Subsequently, Prof. WANG Donghua, the academic director of the Master of Finance program, on behalf of the degree point, reported to the assessment expert group on the construction of the degree authorization point, focusing on the qualification assessment index system, including the discipline training objectives and standards, basic conditions, and talent cultivation. After the report, the members of the expert group raised questions about the content of the report. Prof. WANG Donghua and others provided detailed answers to the questions raised by the expert group.

    The assessment expert group believed that the Master of Finance professional degree authorization point has achieved remarkable results in various aspects in recent years and unanimously agreed to pass the qualification assessment.

    Finally, Prof. LOU Gaoxiang, the Vice Dean of the Business School, made a statement on behalf of the School, expressing gratitude for the hard work and valuable opinions of the assessment expert group. He stated that they will earnestly carry out rectification and implementation, and continue to promote the development of the Master of Finance professional degree authorization point.
