On November 4th, 2019, the School of Business successfully held the 2019 International Import Trade Forum and established Lin-Gang Special Area-ECUST Research Institute of Free Trade Zone Innovation with the purpose of promoting the exploration into global trade and sustainable development path as well as serving the national development strategy.

This forum was hosted by East China University of Science and Technology, undertaken by the School of Business, and co-organized by LEDECO Geneva and China Institute for WTO Studies, University of International Business and Economy. 

Ms. Anabel Gonzalez, Director-General (Executive Director) of the United Nations International Trade Center, Mr. Chong Quan, Chairman of the China Society for World Trade Organization Studies, former deputy international trade representative, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, Mr. Wang Xinkui, Chairman of the Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Center, former Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee, former Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Bob Koopman, the Chief Economist at the World Trade Organization, Mr. Wang Chunhua, Chairperson of the Counci at Lingang Group attended this forum.Dr. Jingping Qu, President of ECUST delivered a speech, Dr. Wu Baijun, Vice  President of ECUST hosted the opening ceremony.

On the same day, The seminars on "Imports and High-Quality Economic Development", "Restructuring of International Trade System and Countermeasures", and "Innovations in Trade and Sustainable Development" were held separately.

Dr. Ma Ling, Chairperson of the School Council, made the closing remarks and expressed gratitude to all the participants.
