
In order to guarantee the education quality of new graduate students, the Graduate Education and Management Center of the School of Business held an orientation meeting with new international students of Business Administration orgram fully taught in English on September 6th in 210 of the School of Business. The meeting targeted at the international students of 2.5-year English taught MBA program, MIEX program and ISM program, and a total of 11 international students from 9 countries, including Germany, France and Columbia, attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Ms. Dong Haiyi, Director of Graduate Education Management Center.
Ms. PENG Shuwen, who’s in charge of teaching related affairs, gave a detailed explanation on the University's teaching management rules and regulations, such as the curriculum, course selection process, classroom discipline, and examination standards. Afterwards, Ms. Zhao Yue, the degree management teacher, introduced the degree conferment rules, degree application process and precautions of ECUST to the international students in detail.
Ma Ruoxi, a graduate student of the class of 2022, showed the international students the study, life and campus culture of graduate students. She illustrated the facilities that are used daily on campus, including the cafeteria, library, basketball court and so on. These facilities are not only places for study and communication, but also an important part of students' after-school life. In order to help international students integrate into the study and life in China more quickly, Ma Ruoxi also shared some practical cell phone software and introduced the international students to the use of online learning resources in our library.
Afterwards, Ms. Dong Haiyi put forward her expectations and requirements to the international students. She encouraged the international students to actively communicate with their tutors and classmates in order to speed up their integration into campus life. She also hoped that the international students would study hard during their study in China, take the initiative to explore and respect the Chinese culture, and spend a valuable and unforgettable time in the Business School.
At the end of the orientation meeting, international students from different countries introduced themselves to each other, and they discussed and exchanged warmly with faculty members about their concerns about course selection, visa, graduation time and other issues. In a pleasant atmosphere, the new student meeting for international students of English taught Business Administration Program of Class 2024 came to a successful end.
